What did you take for MS?
I'm having nausea that's actually way worse at night but anyway. I seem to be able to feel better by basically eating constantly.
Sometimes I just feel like crap and I'm going to be going away and taking a plane ride. I'm v. early so I'm worried that this mild nausea is only the beginning.
I have read about unisom and B6 or benadryl.
I called the dr and the woman I spoke with said all I could have was preggie pops and that I shouldn't take any medication. When I asked about unisom and benadryl she said they have nothing to do with morning sickness. I know that's not true bc unisom is an anti-emetic.
I've read both that unisom is harmless during pregnancy and that it, like all drugs should only be taken as a last resort.
I might need to find a new office bc I am not finding this one helpful.
What did your OBs tell you it was ok to take?
I can sort of get through this now (though I may want to take something to sleep at night), but I'm worried that I'll be puking on the plane or on the trip. I'm a total baby about puking, and if I puke, DH will too, so as much as I can avoid it, so much the beter
Thanks!
I promise I'll stop being so psycho at some point

Re: What did you take for MS?
I was unable to function for most of this pregnancy. I had MS with DS 1 but nothing like this time with the twins. I took Unisom and B6. My OB recommended this.

Re: What did you take for MS?
I was MS my entire pregnancy. I tried everything from crackers, to ginger ale, to preview pops and Nothing worked. My dr put me on Zofran and I took it my entire pregnancy.

Whoever you spoke to is an asshole. Unisom, while an insomnia class drug, is an H1 receptor antagonist and is proven (off label use) to help with MS along with vitamin B6 (natural like Thorne P5P)
I also take zofran.

There's even a new drug out called diclegis. It contains doxylamine (unisom) and pyridoxine (b6). It's even a category A! :)

Re: What did you take for MS?
I'm not happy with this office so far.
I'm asking DH to get me unisom and b6 along with tums and saltines. And preggie pops.
I've only officially known for a few days but I'm hoping to someday soon be able to think about something other than being pregnant at some point.

Re: What did you take for MS?
There is also B-Nexa. that's what I take now since my nausea is no longer causing vomiting. I took Zofran when I was sick all the time.

Eating constantly -- and heavy meals too -- is what I helped me. I luckily never threw up with this pregnancy or #1 however I definitely felt way more nauseated this time around. Especially in the morning and at night after dinner/before bed. Eating Italian ices (the ones you buy in the supermarket) at night helped me.

I was just going to say the same thing. The concept of a b-complex and unisom ( doxylamine) is not a new concept. I took it with my last pregnancy and now this one. It is perfectly safe

That new drug is supposed to be OTC too.

Re: What did you take for MS?
Nothing helped mine but zofran. I was nauseous all day and threw up whenever I ate. At 19 weeks 6 days weeks I still do on occasion. I would call and see If they can phone in zofran. It was a lifesaver. I take the 4mg dissolvable

Re: What did you take for MS?
I took nothing, no pills or medication.
Ginger ale, cold water and sniffing grapefruit candles helped a bit.

I don't know who you spoke to on the phone but she's mistaken. My sister is an OB and I cleared it with my OB as well. I took Unisom and B6 to start with. She said that is what usually helps with mild nausea. For me it didn't work because I had acute morning sickness (hyperemesis) but her colleague takes it who is a fellow OB and it seems to help her. Unisom is a sleep aid so don't take it with Benedryl. Once I was started on zofran I would take benedryl at night to help me sleep so I wouldn't get up and feel sick.

Re: What did you take for MS?
B6 and unisom seem to work as well as/ better than Zofran w/ fewer side effects. Yesterday I ended up taking both. I did b6/unisom at 10 am but was still sick at 2 so took Zofran and back to b6/unisom at 6.
I feel dizzy and weak throughout the day. I've spent the last week or so in bed, basically. Praying it gets better. I find I can stay up and feel ok if I am talking to people/distracted but on my own I just feel dizzy and gross.
