Is anyone else terrified? (may be sensitive)

Scared of giving birth? Like terrified? I am having a c-section in 23 days, and I almost feel like I signed a death sentence. Then you hear the stories where you know someone who knows someone and it just makes me want to cry! I was terrified before I got pregnant of getting pregnant again. I had my DR do all sorts of bloodwork to rule out clotting issues and such, but I am still sitting here practically in tears that something is going to happen :( I've spoken to my OB about it and they aren't concerned, but they aren't the ones going under the knife ya know.

First off you're not alone. I was petrified beyond belief when I had my 1st...it went flawlessly yes but now I'm on dc #2 and the old feelings are coming right back. For most people, scary is one of the 1st feelings followed by freaked out then nervous as hell then excited haha, you're totally normal and you're going to be fine, though no amount of words will completely assure you know that the odds are w you and all will be good! Hope this helped...if only for a bit Chat Icon

I actually DO have all sorts of clotting issues and def a little concerned .. I can just imagine laying there and hearing the dr tell his nurses that I'm bleeding out and to bring in pints of blood for a transfusion stat! .. but honestly what it comes down to is, this may be your FIRST csection but they have done this hundreds if not thousands of times. They know what to do. You have the relatively easy part of laying there and waiting to see your baby. Most of the time .. like 99.99999%, mom and baby are perfectly fine - so I like to err on the side of THOSE stats Chat Icon Good luck!

Definitely nervous giving birth for the first time. I try not to let it get the best of me. So many women have done it, I figure I'll be ok too and the end is so worth it!!

This is my 3rd, and I still get nervous, I think its natural to be. My advice is to try and think about what happens after! Hearing, its a ..., even if you already know, hearing your babys first cry, holding that tiny little babies fingers and smelling that newborn scent! I still remember waking up in the middle of the night crying to my husband bc i missed my baby boy and needed to smell him haha, its soo intense and just such an amazing experience, so look forward to that!

Re: Is anyone else terrified? (may be sensitive)

I was very scared the first time around. My labor was pretty much the worst scenario I imagined.

So this time around I am thinking it can't possibly be worse than that, but I'm still terrified.

I already posted above.....but, what scares me the most this second time around is the c-section part...with my last c-section, my doctor was cleaning up my old scar tissue from my previous myomectomy (removal of fibroids) before closing me up and the anesthesia started wearing off and I started to feel a lot of pressure, pulling and some pain. I kept yelling...."Are you almost done...I Could feel some pain!"

ETA: Sorry, I mentioned I previously post ...but, I thought it was another post similar to yours.

This is my 3rd and I am totally scared...I have my first two vaginally and I am scared that this birth won't be vaginal and I'll have a c-section...I know what to expect vaginally, but not at all what to expect if it is a c-section! I think the scariest part is the unknown.

Re: Is anyone else terrified? (may be sensitive)

This is actually my third as well, third c-section as well, I think that has me nervous too, I've been through it, I'll take all the pain, as long as I know I'll be alright.

My other two pregnancies were so easy, no morning sickness or anything! And the c-sections were a breeze, I had some pain, but they were okay. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt with morning sickness, pain, heartburn, all the fun stuff, so it has me worried that the c-section will be bad too. I know I shouldn't think like that, but it's hard not to.

I am trying not to think about it, but it does make me feel better knowing I am not the only one freaking out. If I could do a VBAC, I would, it just wasn't an option for me :(

I just hate being so scared and anxious!
