Keratin Treatment During Pregnancy
Anyone do a keratin treatment while pregnant? I am 32+ weeks. I asked my obgyn yesterday and he pretty much left it up to me. He didn't guarantee 100% safety but said that he was sure many women have done it and as long as it didn't penetrate my scalp, it should be fine. I asked my hair dresser and she said it was ok too and had done it on pregnant women as well. I have my hair highlighted but I'm guessing keratin is probably more invasive? I'm not sure since I've never done it.
I know at this point, I'm far enough along where I could wait it out. It's just that my hair is driving me absolutely crazy! It's fine and frizzy and pretty much out of control. Just wanted to get others thoughts and opinions.

Keratin Treatment During Pregnancy
I was allowed to do it in my second trimester last pregnancy. I wore a mask most of the treatment and did the formaldehyde free one. My OB was fine with it, and has had them done as well while pregnant.

I wouldn't. Even the formaldehyde free ones have it but under a different name. I've had it 3 x before pregnancy and could have used it during but my hair girl said not to.

If a doctor couldn't tell me that something wasn't 100% safe, I would not chance it. The benefit would not be worth the risk to me. If something were to happen I'd never be able to forgive myself.

I asked the same question last week and almost everybody who responded said no. I also checked online, and many others have done it. Somebody posted online that the Coppola one was the only one allowed by her OB.

Def not. My Mom is hairdresser and now refuses to even do the treatment anymore... The amount of toxic chemicals in those treatments is insane. Not worth it while pregnant.

I had the formaldehyde free one done before I was pregnant and had a bad reaction to it and my reg dr said that there are many chemicals in these products that we really shouldn't be breathing in. I would wait it out!

Keratin Treatment During Pregnancy
I am lax with just about everything. I ate whatever I wanted etc but that is the one thing I would never do and my hairdresser said she would never never do it for a PG woman.

Keratin Treatment During Pregnancy
I'm dying to do it, but I stopped once we started TTC and would never do it pregnant. I'm waiting until after birth.
