Re: The weight gain
I'm sorry. I am up almost 40 lbs at 34 weeks, and I am eating well and exercising. I am really all belly, and as depressing as it is, we have to remember that average weight gains are "average", and our bodies are gaining as much as they need to!

Re: The weight gain
yeah neither is mine ... I even came out and asked (which I thought was just asking for trouble) and he told me he wasn't concerned at all. I seem to be the only one thinking about it.

Re: The weight gain
I was up 37 lbs at my 24 week appointment. The doctor gave me the dreaded weight speech. I was so upset! I ended up gaining 40lbs total and delivered at 39 weeks 3 days. Some people gain a lot up front, some at the end...dont stress! As long as you are feeling well and have no health issues it;s all good!

The weight gain
LOVE the attitudes....its pregnancy not just plain bad eating habits.. it does not last forever! I try to be healthy 75% of the time and exercise 5-6 days a week (walking, swimming, ect) and Im still up 37lbs at 37 weeks.. My thing is I'm trying but if I want to eat a bag of Jelly Belly I will if that makes me feel better.:)

Re: The weight gain
I gained 42 lbs by week 40 and then week 41 I lost 3 lbs. By my 2 week visit I had already lost 28lbs (my baby was 10 lbs) so as long as the doctor isn't concerned you should be ok. I remember 1 month I gained 7 lbs.

Re: The weight gain
That is why I don't weight myself and don't look or listen when the nurses weigh me. I don't want to know!
WIth DD1, I gained 40lbs. By 5 weeks post delivery, I was down 50lbs (I later gained back those 10 bonus lbs, but it was nice while it lasted!). Your body gains what it wants to when it wants to!

Don't worry about the weight gain unless your dr says something. Towards the end, and especially in the hot weather, you will start to retain more water (hence the swollen ankles that are so common!). But, you also usually stop gaining the last week or 2. Just concentrate on that little baby!
