If you currently or ever lived in a pet-friendly condo...

We are in the process of renting a condo in a small building. The building is pet-friendly but we have to do what the broker is calling a 'meet and greet' with one board member and our dog. She insists this isn't an approval type thing and more just a get to know you/make sure your dog isn't aggressive thing. But I'm not so sure and even though our dog is a sweetheart, he can be a bit anxious in new situations. Not aggressive, but a bit anxious. Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing? Or gone through it?

I'm in contract now for a pet friendly condo. All I looked at were dog friendly buildings/townhouses and I never heard of this.

No experience but perhaps it's for their insurance purposes? If you were buying the condo, you would get your own insurance, right? And I believe you have to inform the insurance company if you have a dog. So maybe this is for their own peace of mind regarding their insurance? Like, if your dog was vicious and ended up biting another tenant? Could the building's insurance policy increase as a result? I don't know lol. Just a thought I had.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If its a pet friendly building I'm sure they would be understanding of how a dog may react in front of strangers

A friend had to bring her dogs to meet the board in her place. I have heard of this.

I don't recall needing to bring our dog, however, we did need to meet with one of the board members. She basically went over all the rules of the building with us, many which were pet-related.
