For those who failed 3 hour glucose test
I had my three hour glucose test this morning. While I haven't gotten the results back yet, I am not terribly optimistic. I failed the first test "big time" according to my OB and when speaking to my mom last week, she told me she and my grandmother both failed all of their GTT too. Just wondering what I should expect if I fail.

Re: For those who failed 3 hour glucose test
I failed the 3 hour. I had to have a consult with an endocrinologist, nutritionist, and learn how to use a glucose meter. I really haven't needed to change my diet at all to keep my numbers in check. I just make sure to eat plenty of protein and limit my white carbs. It has also kept my weight in check, though I really didn't need to do that. I see the endocrinologist every week. I also have growth sonos every 2 weeks, though I had them scheduled prior to my diagnosis because of my high blood pressure.

Re: For those who failed 3 hour glucose test
With my first pregnancy, I failed. I did consult with a nutritionist recommended by obygyn and to be honest, it wasn't that bad. I learned which carbs spiked and lowered my blood sugar. Everyday, I did have to check my sugar. That was the only draw back. I didn't eliminate everything out of my diet..it was all about proportions.

Re: For those who failed 3 hour glucose test
I failed the 1 hr and 3 hr but not by alot. However I still had take a class and follow a low carb diet and check my blood sugar 4x a day. It was annoying at first but overall not so bad. Hardest part was staying away from sweets - esp toward the end. I was allowed a 30 carb snack at night and always had a Klondike bar or icecream sandwich! Good news is my sugars pretty much stayed on track, i didnt gain too much weight and my baby was born a normal weight (7lbs 14oz).
Also one annoying thing is I had to have non-stress tests done twice a week starting at 32 or 34 weeks. Ugh. Total pain!
