Central Air

My central air is HORRIBLE.... it will be cranking all day long and the house doesnt get cool until the night. Does anyone who have central air also have this problem too? Is there something wrong with the system?

We called someone to the house last year and they told us that it was fine and that central air only allows the house to be 10 degrees cooler than it is outside... so if outside its 96 degrees, its 86 in the house! Ughhhhh! Im 27 weeks today and Im already uncomfortable in the house.

Any ideas?

Re: Central Air

That does not make any sense. I've been in CAC houses where it's very cool, even when it's blazing hot out.

Central Air

We had a prob with ours last year and it turned out we had a freon leak. I think the key is u can't let it get too hot in the house and u have to lower the temp gradually. That's what they told us.

We were told our system can cool home by 20 degrees from outside temp ( ex 90 outdoor 70 indoor) could be a a frion issue. Do you have a warranty on your unit?

That's bologna! You need to get someone else to check it out. We've had this issue in the past and had it tuned up and working great immediately. Filters, frion, vents, all things that could be interfering. However, I'm far from an HVAC guy!

No warranty on unit. My fiancé said last time they checked the freon it was fine... But we still had this problem. I just can't deal with it again this year being this pregnant. Who do I call exactly to get someone who knows about central airs? I want to find someone who has experience and can figure out what's going on. I live in Oakdale area.. Any ideas? Thank uChat Icon
