Saw the doctor today for a last minute appt...

All weekend I was having sharp back pains and some cramping. Nothing was consistent but it was intense at time, enough where it would wake me up at night. I'm 35w 4d today so I called the doctor and just wanted to be seen. I didn't want to go to L&D but just wanted to know what was going on. I've had a DRASTIC drop in movement too. Even after I eat or drink some OJ so they wanted to check that out.

Well I am not dilated AT ALL, cervix is still long, BP was 104/70, LO's heart rate was between 130-140 and spiked a couple times which they said was normal (went as high as 165 a couple times), and fluid looks good. She did say that I dropped a little bit (which I knew) and she can feel his head. I have to go back on Monday for my 36w appt and get the strep B test.

Did anyone drop and then go into labor not soon afterwards? My belly button looks like it is going to come out soon...it's drastic even from yesterday.

I know this is long but I have to say it was HYSTERICAL because DH came to the appt and never saw me get an internal exam before. He looked like he was totally uncomfortable!! He looked straight ahead, wouldn't even look at me. I just laughed at him and told him to pull it together for when his son is actually born!

Your DH might be better suited as the supportive head position person when you're in labor.

I'm glad everything is OK though! DS never dropped for me which was part of the reason I ended up with a C-section after all was said and done. I feel like the dropping doesn't necessarily mean labor will start soon though. I think the dilation might be a better indicator?

HAHA! DH always said he was going to stand up by my head but he better get his act together when I give birth, I've never seen anyone more uncomfortable HAHA!

And thank you for your response. I was looking online and it seemed to be a 50/50 type thing about the baby dropping and then going into labor which to me doesn't really mean anything. I'm only 35.5 weeks so I guess it's ok, I'm just getting anxious. My mom had me at 36 weeks and I came out 7lb 7oz so in my head I think it's totally ok.

haha...DH didn't even realize I had an internal sono. I'm like what did you think she was doing under there!

Anyway, glad to hear you and baby are doing well!!! Any changes keep us updated!
