No Immunity to German Measles (Rubella)
I just found out yesterday that I am not immune to German Measles, but I am against measles, mumps, etc. My dr said to just be careful and after I have the baby I will be revaccinated. Apparently the shot I received as a child either wore off or I never had built up antibodies and never knew. Anyone else find this out whole pregnant? This is why I wish they would test you BEFORE you got pregnant!

Yep, found that out during my first pregnancy. Was supposed to get the shot before being sent home after delivery and it was forgotten! Got pregnant with #2 and had another baby without the immunity. Finally got the shot after my second baby. All was fine with my 3rd pregnancy!

I'm not immune either. The doc didn't mention any additional shots. It's not a big deal if I have to get it again though. I mean, after childbirth what's the big deal with a shot or two lol.

I haven't experienced this exactly but in general feel so much should be tested for beforehand...

I'm immune but that's why obs suggest to have a preconception appt. I discussed getting preggo with my doctor beforehand and he gave me a list of vaccinations I should go for, rubella was one of them. Hep c was another.
