Vacation reccomendations for families
We are looking for a recommendation for a family friendly hotel that has activities for kids either at the hotel or a short drive from hotel. Looking to be near beach. Thinking of Montauk, Hamptons, Mystic, Newport. I don't want to drive more than 3 hours. Open to all suggestions Tia!

If you are ok with a lake beach, you should check out Woodloch Pined. Tons to do all day and night!

Re: Vacation reccomendations for families
I'm always looking for great family friendly hotels with kid's activities that aren't too far. We went to the Eden Resort in Lancaster last month, awesome. My kids and I loved it. So much to do in that are as well. We went to Dutch Wonderland. It's more like 4+ hours though depending on where you live.
Montauk doesn't fit the bill for us, I can never find anything really great for kids to do. Same for Newport. Mystic has the aquarium and Seaport, and the Hyatt Place is nice (outdoor pool, most have indoors). Beaches in Rhode Island are a short drive away (although we have never been to them).
The Jersey shore has family friendly activities. We love Wildwood. So clean and family friendly. No resort type hotels in that area though, more like beach motels. The Morey's Resorts are the most updated. I recommend Starlux. and Morey's Piers is great with rides and waterparks. The beach is right there as well. That is about 4 hours also though.

We are here now. We did Dutch wonderland today and we are doing the Day out with Thomas tomorrow. We wish we booked two nights our boys loved the pool area so much, especially our 15 month old.

Re: Vacation reccomendations for families
We LOVE Eden in Lancaster. Tons to do in the area. We went 3 years in a row, now we are kinda tired of it, but we had fun all three times! Its less than 3 hrs for us.
We love Montauk but you have to be real beach people, theres not many activities to do, you can take a ride into Sag harbor and theres some stuff there though. The wildlife refuge where you can feed birds from your hands and the childrens museum is close.
Baltimore inner harbor has SO much for kids/families to do. But more like 4 and 1/2 hours ( I am Nassau/Suffolk border)
Mystic CT. - took us about 2 and 1/2 hrs...
Woodloch sounds AWESOME...but its super super expensive.

Re: Vacation reccomendations for families
Southern Maine beaches are more like 5 hours, a bit less depending on traffic but they are beautiful and so family friendly.
Lake George has lots of stuff too.
