***Anyone Gluten-free??***

Hey ladies! I am currently going completely gluten free due to possible celiacs disease. Anyone else? My Dr believes there is a huge link to CD and infertility so we are giving it a shot.
For those of you who have it.. How do you start? Do you clear the cabinets and start fresh? Did you see a nutritionist?
TIA!

I am GF.

First, if you are going to get tested for celiac, you need to have gluten in your system for the test to be accurate.

As for starting out, I cleaned out the kitchen and only bought healthy, clean GF foods. When I started my G-free journey (and even today) I am always looking online for recipe ideas to keep things interesting. If you ever want some of the sites/blogs I follow, just let me know.

Going GF Isn't so bad. DH never complains and says that he feels better since he gave it up with me.

Good Luck!!

Re: ***Anyone Gluten-free??***

I was tested but it came back negative-- I think bc I held off all gluten in the weeks before the blood panel :/ My dr did not advise me to go gluten heavy before it. My next steps are endoscopy/colonoscopy which I really do not want! I'm just a wimp when it comes to these tests.
Thanks for the input! Any good websites?

I did it on my own (no nutritionist). Elana's Pantry and Gluten-Free Goddess are some good food blogs to turn to. When we eat at home, we eat well and don't miss it that much. Eating out is the challenge, especially since I gave up dairy (a more common allergy) simultaneously.

But I feel brand new after being sick for 3 years.

We really do think alike Lillies! I am thinking of going gluten/grain free. Did the whole 30 for a month and felt great but I didn't keep it up. I need to try again not just for IF reasons but for my psoriasis. Need to see if food is the cause of most of my issues. Trying to decide how to do it. Cold turkey I guess is best. Good luck!! Keep me posted!

not too bad- $30 or so for 6 week meal plan- includes shopping list and all recipes - everything is from scratch though- nothing processed and quick meals!

you should go see Dr. Christine Gizoni. My friend has PCOS her whole life, plus bowel issues. She NEVER got her period on her own, only with the help of meds/BC pills. Went to Dr Gizoni who did an elimination diet with her (gluten being one of the foods). After two months, she lost 20 pounds (was thin to begin with), had 0 bowel issues AND got get period on her own.

after my failed IVF cycle I decided to go gluten light. I eliminated on my own most bread (still have sometimes a sandwich with avocado at work), all pasta, all pizza, all bagels (this one was hard as its my fav). I also lightened my dairy intake.
I am trying to eat mostly mediterranean diet - olive oil, greens, avocado - as its linked to better fertility.
no idea if its working, but I did lose over 10-13 lbs since end of March and stopped having upset stomach.

I have also lost weight! Like 5-7lbs in 2weeks. I also have been feeling amazing. I have heard the same with Mediterranean diets! I am living on that stuff and love it. I got my first BFP on my own yesterday but I am not sure if its sticking. A small victory still for me and praying I have more good signs ahead! Good luck to you and wishing you the same!

I went gluten and dairy free and am happy to say that after 9 years, 6 miscarriages totaling 8 babies- I am 31 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins. The change in diet totally adjusted my immune system. Best of luck to you Chat Icon
