Please help me mix atterns and colors in my new living room.

I need major decorating help! Above I hope I put working links to the possible couch and rug I like for my blue and green with gold accents living room. I am going for a traditional look .... DH likes more modern, I like more antiques...so we are just trying our best to meet in the middle.

I am going for the look of a blue hydrangea bush...
Blues with sage greens.

What do you think of this sofa and rug? I am afraid we are getting too modern...but maybe I can make it look traditional worth pillows, etc.

The walls are a light beige with white crown moulding.

We want to also get two chairs , and I want to add curtains and throw pillows.

Not sure if the blue couch and rug will be too much navy.... And not sure how to mix the patterns...want some patterned throw pillows...might like patterned curtains and/or chairs. I think i would love striped chairs, but maybe i should go with a solid sage green? Just not sure how to mix it all. I have read things about using 3 patterns - one large, one medium, one small.

Any advice? TIA

i LOVE that rug, but i'm not sure i'd order it from zulily (don't they have a no return policy on many items?)
