Photographer allowed in L&D? Would Mom be upset?
Anyone know if Stony Brook has any policies around photos being taken during birth, or having a photographer come in?
I want to do a birth session, and just wondering if anyone knew if that was doable.
Also, would that person count as one of the 2 allowed in L&D with me? If so, think mom would be upset she's not allowed in bc I have the photographer there?

you can but it counts towards your 2 people.
I'm having my husband and a photographer and then if my mom makes itshe'll be my " support person"
still photography only, no video

Ooo ok. Well yea I tell mom to be my support person for sure. I only plan on having still photography. Is that at SB? So I don't need to bother asking?

i would check with your doctor and the hospital and of course the photographer you hired.

I don't plan on having my mom in the delivery room with me. At least not right now. The day of I might change my mind but eh.. we'll see.
If I chose a photographer, or anyone aside from DH over her it would be WWIII.

I'd check with the hospital- LIJ had a no pictures policy for Insurance reasons and I think probably a lot of them do. We were actually told the exact moment when we could use a camera and it was after birth

yes, they're allowed. she said 'some particular nurses might not want to be photographed but as long as whoever is doing it is discrete and not in people's faces (and any good photographer will absolutely be discrete and low key)
