Prednisone
Has anyone ever been put on prednisone while pregnant? If so, how long were you on it? What dosage? Any side effects? Feel free to FM me, or I would be happy to FM you.

I was on prednisone prior to getting pregnant and started weaning off after a positive beta. I think I was fully off it by 8wks. As for side effects..... this latest time I was on it, I hardly had any. When I was on it in the past while trying to get pregnant I was on a higher dose and my face got puffy. I don't remember much else. Feel free to FM if you like

I was on a 12 day dosage of it for bronchitis associated with my asthma during my first pregnancy. I started taking 4 tablets for 3 days, then 3 tablets for 3 days, 2 tablets for 3 days and then 1 tablet for 3 days. The benefits of taking it outweighed not being able to breathe which is obviously not good for baby. I get very emotional when I am on it and I have trouble settling down and sleeping. I don't think I got puffy though.

I took it 2 or 3 times when pregnant with my DS. 32mg once per day for several days (5 maybe). I had very severe migraines that would not go away and I couldn't function. I took some this pregnancy once but a lower dose. My OB was never concerned about it. I had no side effects except being pain free which was amazing.

TY so much. I am 31 weeks and may need to be on it for the duration of my pregnancy. I'm freaking out of course so it's nice to hear other girls have been through it.

I was on prednisone before my BFP and weaned off around 9 weeks. At the time I was on it I was also on Progesterone, Estradol, lovenox and a couple of other things since I did IVF so no clue which side effects was from which meds.

Don't remember the dosage, but I did a taper for about ten days around 25 weeks, no side effects for me, and dd was fine too.

When I was pregnant with my DS, I had to be put on IV Prednisone is the hospital for 4 days. It was a really high dosage, although I can't remember what it was. Once I was released, I had to wean myself off of it with the pill form for about a week. I was 21 weeks pregnant at the time. The only symptoms I experienced were weight gain (which came off once I stopped taking it), headaches and my heart raced like crazy!

I was on it to treat my asthma when I was about 16 weeks pregnant. It was a short course. The doctor saw it as a 'benefits outweigh the risk' and said he'd been treating asthma for 30 years and seen tons of pregnant women and never had a problem arise from it.
