If you commute/Commuted
to the city, and your dr wrote a note saying you shouldn't commute anymore, what did it say? I am in a lot of pain now, the commute is brutal! i am just about 32 weeks and I want to officially stop at 38 weeks. I just need a Dr's note, I am just curious what the note should say as far as being home and not commuting. If I get a note then I will get paid for the two weeks before the baby is born, otherwise I have to use my vacation for those two weeks.

Re: If you commute/Commuted
your doctor should know what to say, i'm sure they have to do this frequently.
When i asked my dr if i should stop commuting at a certain time, she said it was up to me and how i was feeling - but she knew that i worked in the city and had an hour commute to get home. She said to just be prepared that if anything happens at work, do i want to be an hour away from the hospital? So i stopped working 2 weeks before my due date - but she didnt' give me a note because it wasn't medically necessary for me to stop - it was my own decision.
i guess you should talk to your dr and see what they say because unless its medically necessary, they may not want to write it. Or, they may be fine with it..

Re: If you commute/Commuted
I would just ask for a general note from your doctor...maybe have them state you are on modified bed rest Until the birth of your baby and therefore can no longer continue to work.

Wow lucky! I stopped two days before my due date and I got told that I have to have a dr. note and I might not get paid!
Just tell the dr. the commute is too much for your and see what the say.
