Last day of work - WWYD? Long...
I'm due the 31st and had been planning on working up to birth. We are closing on our first home on Tues and will take possession on the 26th (Sunday before memorial day). I'm playing with the idea of just making Sat the 25th my last day so I have time to get the house somewhat settled, and be available to schedule various appts (Cablevision, alarm etc). I will have 3 months of paid maternity leave and as far as I can calculate will not have a mortgage payment due until July, making June a "free" month. My husband also works so his income will be unaffected.
Would you give yourself a few days post moving to get settled, even though you might go late and waste some of your maternity leave? Or just wait it out and get settled after the baby comes?

Defiantely take the days - even if you do go late there will plenty to do.

Moving is incredibly stressful in of itself regardless of being almost 40 weeks pregnant. I would take the days.

I struggled with this on my first pregnancy- I didnt want to take off just to sit around and wait for the baby- but setting up a house is major work- so you will be plenty busy.
And in the end, I really WISH I had gone out early.
This time, I am not sure what I am doing yet lol

As someone who recently moved, I don't know how you are doing it right at the same time as giving birth!!!! The first 2 months after closing were INSANE for me and DH! Granted, we're still remodeling the house, but still.... even move in ready, GIVE YOURSELF THE DAYS... you are totally going to need them! If just to de-stress.

Def! We just moved into a new house in march and it took a while to feel settled. You will want to have time to make sure you know exactly where everything is and feel comfortable before baby comes.

If you weren't dealing with a new house also....I'd say keep working if you feel okay. But this is different. Take the days. And don't push yourself too hard. Do the light stuff and rest often.

3 months PAID maternity leave???? yeah take the time and set up your house!!! You'll have more time to spend with the little one without worrying about moving stuff around your house!!!
