South Bay Gyno
Ttc crasher. Does anyone go to South Bay Gyno in west islip on Montauk hwy? I usually see Dr. Jurak but she's all booked for 3 weeks. My choices are Pallotta or Maiorino for the next appt. Has anyone had experience with either? Thoughts? Who do you use at South Bay and do you recommend them?

Re: South Bay Gyno
I just saw Jurak this week and she is my next one also. The two doctors you mentioned are not OB's so I haven't met them. I've seen Judge, Ammerita (I can never get her name right), Lockhart, Lester and Jurak. Ammerita is the only one I don't like.

I saw Dr. Ammiratta for years and I LOVE LOVE LOVED her. I was SO sad to switch but I moved to the north shore. I have seen Pallotta in a bind and he was great.

South Bay Gyno
I went there in the beginning of my pregnancy. I HATED IT !!! The girl drew like 9 tubes of blood and then when I got home like 3 hours later I received a telephone call from the lab that she drew everything wrong and I had to go back and have the correct test done which was another 8 tubes. Not to mention they had me hold my arm in the air the entire time she drew the blood because they did not have a table. I immediately switched to Comprehensive OBGYN which is only a few blocks away and LOVE it there.

South Bay Gyno
I was a patient of dr Judges for years. I left the practice at 20 weeks pregnant. Best decision I ever made.

I used to see Maiorino before switching practices. Depends on what your appointment is for. Both are fine if you just want a regular checkups. They are both very established (have been practicing for a very long time). Pallotta delivered me 30 years ago. However if you were looking for a consult or an appt to address other TTC questions, while they are knowledgable, they are both a little old school.
If you love Dr. Jurak, then you should stick with her. I do hear that OB appointments at south bay can have you waiting a long time to be seen. I switched because the OB I planned to use left the practice (Maiorino and Pallatta dont do deliveries to my understanding) and because I was recommended to see a high risk dr. I switched to Dr.Antoniadis in West Islip and I am really happy with him.

Re: South Bay Gyno
I go there and although the wait can be insane for non-OB appts, I have found my regular OB appts to be pretty quick (I go in the afternoon.) I see Jurak and Lockhart. I thought the only OBs were Lockhart, Jurak, Lester, Ammirata, and Judge. I like them all except Judge and like the nurses a lot too but the receptionists are awful. They are good though about getting you in if you have any issues. Overall I have been very happy. (Lester delivered my first and I am pregnant now with #2.)
