Would you wait?

We scheduled a family cruise for this upcoming November a few months back. Originally, we had planned to gear up for an IVf cycle when we got back.

Recently, Dh and I decided that we were ready to go and didn't want to wait. I have an RE appt on 5/23, and was hoping to start a cycle in August. If all goes well, I'd be about 11-12 weeks on cruise.

My OB said that assuming all is going well, she has no problem with me going that early. I delivered DS at 30w though and I'm just questioning my decision to not wait.

I obviously WANT to start now.... But am I crazy? Would you wait?

No I wouldn't wait. if all goes well you'd only be 10/12 weeks, its not like you would even be close to 30 weeks. good luck!

Would you wait?

How did you feel with ds at 10/12 weeks? I was miserable with ms so I could not see myself enjoying a vacation at that time.

Re: Would you wait?

I felt ok last time at 12 weeks. As long as I didn't smell curry or fried onions Chat Icon

I guess it is just in the back of my mind "what if" something happens and I'm in the middle of the ocean. But then again at 12 weeks, what difference would it make anyway, I guess.

Re: Would you wait?

I would NOT wait to try because of a cruise ... but what I would do is buy travel insurance. That's what we usually do and it worked in our favor twice when we had to cancel! (once we were both sick .. and once I was pregnant early on but with my history I did not want to chance it - and it's good I didn't because I ended up having heavy bleeding and miscarrying. Had I been on the boat, I would have blamed it on something I did).

I wouldn't hold back on ttc for nothin'

eta: In my first pregnancy I was on a cruise at 12/13 wks and felt GREAT! We actually had a fabulous time and I'm so glad I went! I wouldn't gauge it with how you felt in the first tri with your DS because every pregnancy is different. Trust me. I have had many. Chat Icon Just book it .. get the insurance.. and Enjoy! Ahhhh, see this is my fear!!! We actually booked this months ago- we didn't get insurance. And it is too late to get it now. Does that change your opinion on waiting? It sounds stupid, but this cruise is happening no matter what lol. DH would rather wait if I said I might not go on cruise. We spent a lot of money and we have been looking forward to it for awhile already!!

Hmm .. well if i didn't have a history of 1st tri issues, I would still plan to go. You have to live your life! What I would also do is call and ask to speak to as many supervisors as you need in order to get them to add the insurance. No harm in trying ....
