Any AMA mommies to be? (note sarcasm)
Hi ladies - thanks to all of you posted on what Ob/gyn to choose - I made appts with both and will see.....but I am literally losing sleep over all the things i am reading about as far as AMA - love that saying (note sarcasm again) I am looking for info on the new tests for first trimester screenings - i think they are called Materni21 or something like this - Does anyone recommend these? do the Drs do these tests in your 40 (im turning 41 in 2 weeks) or would the false positives be to high? I dont think I want to have an amnio.....so any support in this area would be helpful as I like to go in the Dr office with all my questions ready ....and I seem to have major scatter brain these days....lol

I did the MaterniT21 along with the nt. My risk factors came back tge same as a 20 year old so we decided against the amnio.

I skipped the NT and just went for an amino. Best decision I ever made.

I think I'm considered AMA (I'm 35). I did the NT scan and bloodwork at 12 weeks and the level 2 scan and bloodwork at 16 weeks. The Materni21, amnio and CVS were all presented to me as options. I was not pushed in one direction or the other; I was just given alot of information. We did not do any of them based on the results from the bloodwork.
