Planting flowers
I know rule of thumb is after Mother's Day but it's not that far away. I have time this week. Would it be ok to plant flowers today? Will they die? I doubt it would still frost but I'm no planting expert lol. Ill be pretty busy the rest of the month. Tia

Re: Planting flowers
One of my coworkers is such a great gardener that his yard has been featured in many photo spreads - I also know that they say Mother's Day as a rule of thumb. Yesterday I happened to ask him if starting this Saturday would work for flowers and herbs and he said to go for it; a few days early is no big deal. :)

Re: Planting flowers
Thanks!! If I plant now does that mean I should also set my sprinklers already- start watering the yard?

Re: Planting flowers
We plant veggies/flowers every year! We planted our flowers already, but not veggies bc some won't do well around 40 degrees. We have also been watering our lawn for a couple weeks now. Gl :)

Re: Planting flowers
You can plant but keep an eye on the weather and if there is a frost advisory, just go out and cover the plants with something like overturned pots or even bubble wrap. With the exception of Pansies because they are cool weather plants and can handle it.
