Re: curling hair
Either use a curling wand or wrap your hair around a regular curling iron but don't use the clamp. There are a lot of good YouTube videos for this.

Re: curling hair
For me, I need a curling iron or wand that can really heat up my hair.
I use the Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron 1 in. barrel and I need no product to hold in the curl. I usually use it like a wand.
ETA: I used to have a(n old) Conair and then my hair would barely hold the curl because it just did not get hot enough.

Put some Motions brand setting lotion on your hair, then curl it, then spray the curl with hairspray (freeze it is good and brushable). That should make the curl hold.

Re: curling hair
-use a ceramic curling iron
-spray each section lightly with hair spray before curling
-curling wands do hold a better curl but the curls are different with a clamp iron... there are a lot of youtube videos demonstrating how to curl with a clamp iron so you don't get that dreaded bend in your hair...
-also if you tease it a bit at the root it helps staying power
-curls stay better in hair that is not freshly washed

Ita word for word. I always spray each section lightly with hair spray, let it dry and then curl, then spray again. You also need to find a good hairspray that's flexible but holds well.
