Belly Pains and pain somewhere else (TMI)
I am 31 weeks today and all morning I am getting these sharp pains in my butt (sorry TMI and totally embarrassing). When I sit still it's ok but any kind of movement makes me want to scream out in pain. Now I'm starting to get a small pain in my lower back and a sharp pain in my belly. It's not like cramping...it's like a sharp pain all across my lower abdomen.
Has anyone has this? I've had Braxton Hicks and this is not them.

Could it be gas? Maybe try a gas x and see if it helps? If not I would call your ob. Feel better!

Hmmm...I don't think this is lightning vag if it's in your butt...Maybe it's just more stretching since you're getting closer?

no such thing as TMI in pregnancy!!
I was going to say gas pains too. I get them really bad. For the butt it's possible you could have pulled a muscle there- maybe the way you slept. I wouldn't think butt pain would be associated with the baby

Thanks girls.
Not gas because I have been passing gas and having bowel movements with no problem. I called the OB and they told me to up my fluids again and rest this weekend to see if it helps. She said it could be stretching or just pressure from him. She said if it turns into menstrual cramps or there is bleeding to call and go to the hospital. She also said to keep an eye on his movement and if I don't feel him for awhile also call.
Looks like it's going to be a lazy weekend for me...

I got those lovely butt pains early on and I believe that's part of the stretching process.

it sounds like it might be stretching. I am not that far yet but maybe the baby is just getting ready??

I'm 19 weeks and got butt pains around 2 weeks ago they come and go if I'm walking for a while or sitting up in bed...I lay down and then they go away...I want to cry sometimes!!

So far so good today. Yesterday I was actually feeling ok so I started doing things around the apartment and the pains came back and stayed the rest of the night. I just woke up (we'll I was up every 2 hours having to pee but finally gave up on going back to sleep again) and no pain right now. We have a party today so we'll see how that goes.
Thank you for asking! I have my 32 week appt on Friday so I'm trying to hold off until then.

I don't think it's sciatica. That doesn't explain the belly pain. Plus, the pain in the butt isn't the butt, more of the inside of it (that's why it's embarrassing and TMI). The pain in the back is more localized and doesn't radiate down.
