Due in 4 days and a little annoyed with my dr
Due in 4 days, baby is so far down her head is barely visible in sono but I'm not dilated or effaced yet. Due date is Mon I have a drs appt on Tues. Dr turns around and says we'll induce you on Tues. Got worried, thought something may be medically wrong. Nope her exact words were its easier takes the guessing out of it. I think we shocked her when in like no I'm not getting induced unless something I'd wrong, due date is a guestimate. She said fine then you'll have to come in 2x a week for sonos and check ups to make sure baby is ok. We are fine with that. It's not just this dr all drs in the practice are induction happy. She said she'll give me 10 days after my edd before they intervene and I said that's fine. I'm a firm believer baby will come when she's ready.

that is frustrating. . one day late is NOTHING and if no danger to baby, def not a cause for induction. . obviously any medical reason, sure but for no reason, I don't get it!

This makes me so mad and it isn't even me! It's business to them as usual! Good for you for sticking up for yourself and your baby! Okay, rant over.

you don't have to go with her 10 day limit. Remember they give you up to 42 weeks. Although not recommended to wait long but baby will be here when he/she is ready. Don't let them push you!!! they are just trying to make it convenient for them

Good for you! I turned down their "suggestions" to induce as well, on THREE separate occasions.
You did the right thing!

Believe me I hate my Obgyn but because of hurricane sandy's timing I wasn't able to switch and because of 1st and 2nd trimester issues I couldn't find someone new to take me. I'm switching right after I have her.

Good for you! The same thing happened to me, we even had the hospital scheduled for the induction 10 days past my due date bc at all the post-due date appts the baby was high and I had no progress. Dd arrived 7 days late on her own

I hear ya  You can only do so much but better that you be your own best advocate!
