Gender before 17 weeks?
Has anyone heard of finding out about baby's sex before 17 weeks? Someone I know went for a 3d u/s at 10 weeks and found out she's having a boy. Anyone else?

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
I was pregnant a few years ago and they were able to tell at 16wk2d. With this pregnancy, we saw his goods at 11wk4d
The sono tech said he's a 'blessed boy'

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
I know a few, and one of them were wrong. Honestly unless you are having a blood test I would just wait until the 20 weeks to be completely sure.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
We had a "75%" gender guess at our 13 week/NT sono. We aren't sharing though until the anatomy scan when it's a bit more accurate.

We were told at 13 weeks, 16 weeks, and then it was confirmed at 20 weeks.

At 10 weeks the genitals aren't developed..they look exactly the same between boy and girl at that stage. 12 weeks may be a bit more accurate (a few friends have guesses from 12 weeks that were right). My 12 week guess was wrong. 10 weeks I would never ever trust.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
I think the sono tech said girl around 13w. It was confirmed when I got my blood test back a few days later.

Gender before 17 weeks?
The sono tech told us at our 12w NT Scan and it was confirmed when my sister did the scan at 19 weeks and then our anatomy scan at 20 weeks. When we got the 70/30 that it was a at 12 weeks my sister said "it's not accurate" but when she did it at 19 weeks she took it back and said "if they saw his schmecel and it looked like this, then the 12 week scan was right".
I guess it all depends on how the baby is positioned and the sono tech.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
For DD1 the tech guessed at 12w and was obviously wrong. We went to a 3D place at 16w and were told and it was confirmed at the 20w.
For this baby I was told at 12w, and it was confirmed at 20w and at every sono since then.
I think it depends a lot on the tech - I was told that the one who did the 12w for this pregnancy is VERY accurate.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
See, everyone saying they have had or know of people who's original guess was wrong is exactly why we aren't saying what we were told at our 13 week scan!!

Mine was right...does that mean you can tell me!?! LOL! I'm DYING to find out what you are having. Becki's team green so I have to wait a little longer on that one!
Edited to add: I think I'm more excited about both of your pregnancies (meaning you and Becki) then my own (you know what I mean LOL)

Gender before 17 weeks?
I would wait. I was told at 17 weeks when I was having my amnio it was a girl. Well when we got the amnio results I was told it was a boy.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
We were told boy at our 12 week sono. Confirmed at 20 weeks.
With DC2, it was confirmed via blood test at 13 weeks.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
My friend supposedly was able to semi-find out at 12wks, but they wouldn't confirm it 100% until 18 or so.

Re: Gender before 17 weeks?
The sono tech made an educated guess at 13wks with my 2nd. She was right. I confirmed at 16wks at the doctor's office.
