Shoe alterations - do you get them?
I read reviews on Zappos how women will use a cobbler to stretch shoes, replace the sole of heels to something that grips on wet pavement for safety, etc.
I've never actually visited a shoe alteration place for this and was wondering if anyone else has, and what you have done?

Shoe alterations - do you get them?
I had my wedding shoes stretched out and I have had the heels (the little black caps on high heels) replaced

I re-cap the heels when worn and have added non-slip soles the bottom sole of a lot of shoes.
Stretching I do at home with shoe trees.

Yes, I have a pair of boots that I ADORE and I keep having the soles and heels repaired bc they are broken in and perfect and I cant bear to part with them.

I have a pair I love that I need stretched and I haven't had time -
I have my CLs re-soled and a rubber protector added -
Also, I have the heel tips replanced on a lot of my shoes

I've only ever had heel tips replaced. But then again I'm not buying Manolos or anything like that. I won't spend more than $100 on a pair of shoes and even then, I have to really love them.

Wow, I have really been missing out! 
I have one three blocks from my house, never been in there. I like the idea of a shoe tree for home though too. Haven't seen them for sale in a while, where could I get one?
