Cryo report in
Only 3 to freeze. I know some people dont have any so I should be grateful but it's deja vu.
Last time we had 15 at day 5 and only 2 ended up going to freeze. We transferred both for a BFN.
This time we had 12 at day 5 and now only 3 to freeze.
Both times I was told on day 5 that at least 6 or 7 looked great and would probably freeze. Ugh. Oh and these cycles were at two completely different clinics.

Cryo report in
We are one of those that had none to freeze and only one at the day of transfer. I was extremely upset that day that we found out (2d after transfer) but i realized this is what was supposed to happen. I am now almost 15w pregnant and i couldn't be more thankful that one was a 'champ' as my husband says and that's the baby we will be taking home(god willing) in october. Best of luck!

Re: Cryo report in
Thanks everyone!
Gina409...You are right it is absolutely quality over quantity...what I struggle with is if they are all dying off then doesn't that mean poor quality? It's just frustrating because both times we were told how great they all looked and then..well you know the rest!
Augustmom...glad you had some to freeze 1, 2, 3 etc is always better than none. Hopefully neither of us will need them anyway :)
Hope4baby13....congrats and thank you for sharing your story.

I take it to mean the ones that survived are good! I was on a ridiculous high dose of stims and i only got 4 eggs total... 2 survived and we did a 2dt... None to freeze but out of those too i got <----------

Do you mind me asking why you did a 2dt? I have only done 5dt, as of yet none of them have worked. I am actually waiting for the call today to see if my 3rd ivf worked. My office seems to only do 3dt and 5dt. I am wondering, if this cycle doesn't work, if I should ask to do a 3 day and see if it makes a difference. I have never heard of a 2dt. Thanks!

Firstly, she's beautiful :) Second, that's a good way to look at it - the ones that survived were good. I guess I can only hope that is true! I'm a terribly impatient person to begin with - the 2ww is a nightmare for someone like me! haha The mind wanders way too much.

because we only had 2 embryos... if i had more they would have waited longer... they figure theres a better chance of survival inside of me than outside.

Thanks! That makes sense to me. I think I will ask for a 3dt next time. Just got the call that my last IVf didn't take, so on to number 4. Maybe that will do the trick. Your daughter is beautiful!

3 is a great number! In the 5 fresh cycles I've done, only 1 embryo (in total) ever made it to freeze.

Re: Cryo report in
Wow - very interesting to hear how many people have so few to freeze. I'm curious as to why that happens. Is it just too much for the body to produce that many viable eggs? Just feels like there should be more.

Re: Cryo report in
Having 3 to freeze is great.
My first IVF, we only ended up with 2 fertilized eggs, both were put back.
My second IVF, we only ended up with 3 fertilized eggs, one was poor quality - the other 2 were good. We put back all 3.
Hang in there - I know it is stressful, but you only need *1* quality egg!!!
