NYC Teacher with GHI Coverage, PICA/Freedom Pharmacy Question
Who can "hold my hand" and walk me step by step with who I call first to order my meds? I remember back 5 years ago using Kraupners Pharmacy for everything. Do people not use them anymore? Also, who do I call to find out about how much coverage I have left of injectables?

Re: NYC Teacher with GHI Coverage, PICA/Freedom Pharmacy Question
anytime i ordered my meds i screwed it up and that is how i did not maximize how much injectables i could get and we paid tens of thousands on meds over the years
have ur doc office call, once the nurses placed the orders it was better
what u can do is call ur ons company and see what pharmacy u can use
one time i had a med that was not covered at kraupners but was at freedom and curascript

NYC Teacher with GHI Coverage, PICA/Freedom Pharmacy Question
I'm a NYC Teacher and am eager to hear responses. I tried calling GHI and Medco with no success. I just wanted to know what injectibles were covered and how many the Max to order will be. They transferred me all over the place and I was getting frustrated. So far I have only needed HCG and my REs office ordered it through Freedom Pharmacy. If next cycle doesn't work (Clomid IUI) then it will be injectibles so I want to know what it means to order the max. Since GHI requires 6 IUIS I want to have some coverage left in case we need IVF. Uhhh this whole process is draining.

NYC Teacher with GHI Coverage, PICA/Freedom Pharmacy Question
I am a NYC employee but not a teacher. The lifetime max on injectables under PICA and any other fertility meds is 3. When I did my first IVF cycle they ordered 9 vials of gonal f 900 pens, 12 menopur, 2 hcg shots and PIO. Each was the max refill for one prescription so the my RE can write a prescription for each of the meds 2 more times before I hit my max.
Make sure your RE writes the prescription for the max amt of refills so you dont get screwed. I had to use freedom fertility for my meds.

Re: NYC Teacher with GHI Coverage, PICA/Freedom Pharmacy Question
Who is your RE? My RE's office was very familiar with GHI and knew exactly what needed to be done. I also work for GHI(emblem health) and I personally went through 1 IUI and 2 IVFs so I can try to help you as much as I can. Send me FM

ICORE is the company they use for injectables. Medco is for all other meds. Maybe if you call them you can get more answers?

So nice of you! I'm going to be using Dr. Zapantis who is formally from East Coast Fertility, he opened up his own practice. I will definitely FM you if need be, thanks again.
