Doc just told me today I'm anemic!
I have to take an iron pill a day along with my TheraNatal vitamins....
Has anyone been anemic or do any of you know if anyone had gone through the birth without complications? He made me a little nervous talking about it

I was slightly anemic last time and again this time. I take floradix drops to help but I try to eat more iron rich foods (greens, nuts, potatoes w/skins etc). No complications. HTH!

Thanks! I eat so many greens and just started eating meat again ( 10 weeks of morning sickness)....I'm hoping these vitamins work...if not I will look into what you are taking

An iron deficiency is SO common in pregnancy. I never heard of any complications from it

That's seems so common now with a lot of preggers. It doesn't cause complications you will probably just take iron supplements.

One of my girlfriends had low iron during her pregnancy. She had to take supplements but the baby was always fine.

Same. I was anemic with my third and just added the iron supplement. No complications.

I have an iron deficiency this pregnancy. I was just told to take an additional iron supplement. Nothing to be concerned about.

Doc just told me today I'm anemic!
i was anemic in my pregnancy and i just had to take a supplement until 3 months pp. now i'm back to normal and no complications :) hth

I was SEVERELY anemic during PG and it did cause complications at birth for ME, not the baby. Just make sure they are aware but more often than not, it is nothing to worry about. I was the exception to the norm.

I am too! My dr said "everyone's anemic when they're pregnant" when I showed concern lol. I am taking slow release iron.

This, just bought the iron and will begin taking it tonight. The only concern I have is becoming constipated.

I'm super anemic. I actually go for venofer infusions to keep my levels up... DS is a healthy 2mo. Anemia really isn't a huge deal as long as you take your iron.

Im going to be 37 weeks tomorrow and my OB told me last week that I was anemic. He gave me iron to take. I had no idea and guess I have been this whole pregnancy. This is the 2nd time he took blood from me, first time was in the beginning during my 1st trimester. Nothing at all to worry about.

Same here... My son was fine.. I ended up needing a transfusion the day I was suppose to come home. But after that I was pretty much ok.. I still needed to take iron pills but no everlasting problems...
