How do you guys ...
Cope after each failure? I had IUI#1 done on 4/8 (ovidrel on 4/7) and I got a BFN this morning 11dpiui. I know it's still too early to test but I just knew since Monday when my boobs started feeling sore that AF was coming. I just feel so defeated. I know this is only my first IUI and many have been on this road for quite some time but we've been TTC over 4yrs on our own. All while watching every single one of our close friends get pregnant at the drop of a pin. It's just so emotionally draining, especially from the not knowing. According to our RE we are unexplained infertility & it SUCKS. Vent over. Thanks for listening.

To be honest it never gets easier. I had 6 failed IUI's plus a failed IVF cycle and each time it hurt. I think the failed IVF hurt the worst but the key for me was remembering why we were doing it..to have a baby...just keep reminding yourself of the ultimate goal cause the journey is not easy.

Re: How do you guys ...
It sucks each and every time. Two failed IVF cycles. My DH has little to no hope at this point. We are doing what might be our last cycle in July... It is a HUGE stressor on us and I am not sure how much more we can take.
To make matters worse, everyone I know who was trying to get pregnant is currently pregnant. I do not know one person who is currently trying other than us. Since we have been trying for so long, many people are already on baby #2 or #3.... I can not even deal. My DH refuses to use any social media at this point to avoid the plethora of babies.

I feel you. I had my first failed IUI cycle last cycle after trying on our own for a while. I was really upset. I as well have Many friends who got pregnant on their own and the first time trying. Out of all of our friends it seems like we are the only unlucky ones. What keep me going is that I WILL get a BFP one day and there are so many ladies that have gone through so much and eventually got a BFP. You will be sad for a few days....its normal. What kept me going was knowing IUI #2 had a chance of being successful (and I'm hoping it is). Hang in there. Oh and you still are early so a BFP could be in your future...keep testing.

Re: How do you guys ...
(1) Work toward accepting the idea that this may be a long and complicated road.
(2) Take good care of yourself. Take time to cry, indulge and comfort yourself until the hurt passes a bit and you can muster the strength for another go-around, whether that's a day off work, a bubble bath and a glass of wine, or down the road (hopefully not needed) a break from TTC until you're more level.
(3) Find joy in your life. Children, even when you want them desperately, are not the only source of happiness. I don't think I would have survived this if I hadn't forced myself to find other things to look forward to. Sometimes those things are all that keeps me going.

Re: How do you guys ...
It does suck each and every time and I don't think it gets any easier. We are/were unexplained also. Two mos ago we had our 5th failed IUI and we took 2 cycles off. We had to take time off bc I had to have surg, but it felt good to take a mental break. I have a great support system which is really important and I try and keep my mind occupied doing other things. I started knitting and making bracelets, reading, now that the weather is better I can get to gardening and getting outside. This board has definitely helped me tremendously in all of this. Everyone here is so supportive!!
Best of luck to you!!!

How do you guys ...
Thank you guys for all your excellent advice. I definitely think I have to do better on focusing on other things. I am so obsessed with eating the right things, taking care of my body, even planning a vacation revolves around ovulation. Luckily summer is around the corner and I can get distracted by going to the beach, bike riding, or gardening. Thanks again!

Definitely look for good distractions! I went through treatments for 3 years and would have lost my mind if it was all I focused on
It really never does get easier, but I PROMISE you that the moment you see a flickering heartbeat on the screen and you go back week after week to get good news it will all be worth it!

Re: How do you guys ...
I am sorry you have been trying for so long without success. 4 years!
Just remember that you are finally trying new ways to Increase your chances so don't get discouraged so soon. Not many people who do get pregnant with IUI get pregnant on their first try.
Hopefully you will get your BFP soon!
