Another fencing question...
We have a survey and plan on giving it to the fencing company (and to the town for the permit)
But now we're thinking maybe we should get a newer survey and have it staked out before the fencing company puts the fence in...good idea?
Approx how much does a survey cost?
TIA!

How old is the survey? If its over 7 years I say bite the bullet and get the new survey.
What would cost more? Moving the fence and realizing you made a HUGE (or even little) mistake? Or paying now to make sure its done correctly.
Believe me, we have neighbors that got a survey when they bought their house. Realized the ROAD encroached 18" on their property. They dug up the 18" (INCHES) and reclaimed the "road". They dug.up.the.road. for their 18".
Now the snow plow cant get through, but thats another story..

I got quotes for about 500-600. My contractor told me they'd be about a 1000. But a real estate attorney and a neighbor who is a contractor gave us contacts who both came in lower.
