Those who renovated BATHROOMS:

Those of you who renovated a bathroom - how much, if you recall, did you spend on the TILE? Just roughly, I'm trying to get an idea of this. I know it depends on size and quality but I'm trying to get a general sense.

Also, when you purchased materials such as a toilet, a tub, a shower door, vanity -- if you bought them separately, about how much did that run you? If you can list them separately, great, if not I'll take a total... I'm getting prices from all over and I'm really looking to compare, so I know if what I'm getting is normal or not.

Thank you so much!!

We just ordered tile for one of our bathrooms, this past weekend and we re-did our master bath last year. We are tiling half way up the wall and the entire tub/shower. The tile was about $1600 (when we did our master bathroom, we tiled the whole way up and the tile was more expensive - we paid about $3000 for that tile). The vanities for each bathroom were about $800 - $900 each. We haven't order the tub or toilet for the new bathroom yet. For our master bath, toilet was about $225, shower system was about $650 (we do not have a tub in that one), shower door about $1200. I think the granite for our master bath was about $1000 (vanity top and shower seat). This weekend we were quoted about $700 - $800 for a marble vanity top for the bathroom we are starting now. Sink for master was about $150, faucet about $300 and mirrored medicine cabinet was about $250

Re: Those who renovated BATHROOMS:

we bought at Cancos for tile, it was approx $1200-1500 which was the floor, half wall, and a border (which was sold in sheets and we cut it down to size, it was sooo much less than the original border tile I chose)

Tub was about $400
Toilet was less than $100 my FIL found it on clearance at HD and he has just installed the same one a few months prior

Vanity we splurged on it was about $3300
Its Kraftmaid, It includes 2 cabinets for sinks (each 30" wide) 1 bank of drawers (18" wide), a linen tower (15") and a shelving unit that is fixed on top of the counter

Counters were $1600 for granite, including a "backsplash" and a small piece for a wall we have the separates the tub from the toilet. and the 2 sinks

We havent done shower doors because we know its going to be $$$ and this bathroom is mainly used to bathe the kids.

Our total reno (no labor costs) was approx $8K and our bathroom is approx 8'x7'

Re: Those who renovated BATHROOMS:

OK, I'm trying to gauge b/c for tile, $800 total SEEMED pretty good... this is for: tile in the entire shower (6x6 tile with glass tile sheets that we will use in a five inch thick border around the shower and also take the same glass and use as little accents throughout the shower), we are not doing a half wall but instead are doing the entire wall behind the vanity -- same pattern as in the shower but instead of the half wall I figured something different, so from the edge of the vanity to the other edge of the vanity in wall space and up, with a simple oval mirror over it. Then, 16'' tiles for the entire floor. That along with a marble ledge for soap, shampoo, whatever was 800 total and that includes the crap they use to put it on the wall, mortar? Mud? Whatever Chat Icon

I thought that was a pretty good deal and I know the tile is quality because I did my research on that part of it. I had to go to four places and really haggle but I think I got a pretty decent deal. I've turned into quite the bargain hunter, it feels SO GOOD Chat Icon Chat Icon

Our tiles ( floor to ceiling) small bathroom were 900. From tile world in college point. Very nice quality

Out tub was around 200, very very basic tub. The toilet I want to say around 200. We did just the shower curtain. The vanity was a granite topped one, I think it was from lowes. We chose not to spend too much bc we knew we were selling soon

Re: Those who renovated BATHROOMS:

My subway tiles where cheap, about $3 a square foot. However, my chair rail pieces and mosaic marble accents is what doubled the cost. I paid more for the "accent" pieces than I did for the actual tile. Tile for entire bathroom was about $3000. it would be a little more half that if I did not go for the accent pieces.

Do a search on here for my bathroom remodel.

We purchased our materials separately. We used marble and spent about $2000 on materials, but that included tiling the floor and the shower walls up to the ceiling, with mouldings and insets etc.

The vanity was $2000, faucet $500, mirror $600, lighting fixtures $150 each, glass shower door was about $2000 (but we did the extra thick glass). This was our sanctuary though, so we did choose the upper end materials (mostly Restoration Hardware)

we're doing ours now (rather gathering things for us to start)

our tile for the wall in the shower was $400, and the floor is going to be $180

our vanity was $350 (just the cabinet)

our toilet was $300, and then the seat was $40 and the parts were $20

our vanity top we're planning on around $200, and then another $100 for the sink, and $100 or so for the faucet/parts

we're also doing heated floors, and those parts were about $200

the tub i haven't started yet, and we still have to do lighting/vent/mirror/sheetrock/grout/etc.
