How many weeks along will you be for the wedding? I was in a wedding when I was a couple of weeks along and ordered 2 sizes up to be on the safe side. Ask the seamstress they should be able to assist you.

I would go 1 or 2 sizes up...you don't know how fast or slow you will lose the baby weight...better to get it bigger so they can alter it. Chat Icon

Just realized I am posted on the preggo board...Chat Icon not preggo but maybe soon!

I ordered a bridesmaid dress when I was about 5 months for a wedding I am in 2 months postpartum. They took the measurements of my bust and hips and ordered me that size. I am still pregnant (hopefully not for much longer!) and the dress isn't in yet, so I have no idea if it will fit! 4 months after you should be only a size or two up from normal, but the dresses are all sized so different that you can't go by that. I ordered 3 sizes up from my normal clothing size, but it was based on my measurements.

I'm in your situation, I'm going to be in a wedding about 7 weeks after.... I only ordered one size up & now I think that was a mistake... I'm really hoping I can lose the weight quickly but I'm afraid I may need to have it taken out a bit.

Be careful!!! I ordered two sizes up just in case and ended up being 1 size smaller so I had to take it in 3 sizes at 5 weeks post pardum! I'd go one size just on case but no more.

When my sister was supposed to get married they told me to order the dress 1 or 2 sizes up from what I normally would wear. I would have been 5 months pp. The wedding is off now but I still have to agree that 1 or 2 sizes up at 4 months should be ok. My SIL was back to wearing her regular clothes in less then 3 months. Better to have a size larger and get it taken in...it's easier to take away fabric then to add.

I ordered up a TON. I would rather pay out my rear end for alterations than have it not fit and my SIL kill me!

I will be a bridesmaid 7 weeks postpartum. I literally ordered the dress about a month after I found out I was pregnant and was having a hard time figuring out sizing too. Based on measurements and speaking with the bridal store, I went up a size. Should be ok. Not too worried about it. More concerned with how I'm going to handle leaving 7 week old baby girl behind for 2 days to attend this wedding in Chicago. Chat Icon

I got measured at five and half months and went one size up ( the size I fit into I still had some room, so I guess 1 1/2 sizes up). The dress was also a corset. The wedding is six months after I give birth.

I was a bridesmaid when my DD was 5 mos old. I was breast feeding and my chest was huge. While I'd lost 80% of what I needed to, my rib cage and hips had not yet gone back and were wider than normal. I wore 2 sizes up.
