NYPD officers or wives...
Anyone share the same insurance as I? GHI ( Emblem Health) I just got off the phone ith the insurance company and I'm confused about breast pump coverage....
If I understand, it has to be medically necessary; which I'm not sure what that means.
They said I would need a letter and a script written by my Dr. to send in to the claims department. I'm wondering if my dr. Would just write a script?? And then they said its a grade A hospital electric pump. Is that even a good pump.? Ugh... I'm so confused

I'm an NYPD wife Yeah, it has to be medically necessary. I think if that baby doesn't latch or something. I'm not really sure but I'm not all that hopeful that I'm going to get it. I just registered for one so I don't have to think about it.

Do you know if the guys get any time
Off once the baby is born? They have to put their vaca time in all at once and we didn't know we were pregnant when he put in for them...

I hate that they pick their vacation all at once but to answer you question my husband didn't take one of his vacations about a month before the baby was due and was able to use that time plus a few extra days he had...he had about 12 nights off which was more than enough for me...lol

Thanks! That's a great idea! My husband and I had a planned "staycation" about two weeks before I'm due so I'll see if he can do the same. I want him here for the first couple of days! :)

DH is going to use lost time. We have a vacation planned (before I got pregnant!) for October.

same here. he is not going to use one of the weeks he picked and then he will add on a few extra days.

I registered for one because I thought think its going to be a pain to try and fight for one.
My dh is also going to not take 1 of his weeks and take it instead when the baby is born.

I also have GHI and they told me I needed a drs nite to say it was medically necessary - the rep said for example if you are having trouble doing it on your own
