Local 3 Moms to be Insurance Q
If you or DH work for Local 3, have you had any success in getting a breast pump covered? I called Magnacare who told me to call the local to have it authorized and was told by the local that they do not cover anything. I am really quite disappointed. Is there another route I don't know about?

Oh no! I was told magnacare covered it. I will start looking into this.

Local 3 Moms to be Insurance Q
I'm Local 3 and so is my husband. I looked into this and even had my dad on the case (he's a business rep). I called MagnaCare like you did and they told me to call the union hall to find out about coverage. They told me it is not covered under an circumstances. I did some research and find the law to try and get them to reverse it. I called my dad (because the woman at the JIB are commonly giving me the wrong information). My dad printed out the law and gave it to the 3rd floor (whoever is in charge of members records). The guy in charge looked it over and looked into it (he told me if I can prove that they have to cover it they will change the coverage). Turns out because of the Grandfather clause they don't have to cover it and therefore is not part of the union benefits.
If we do not get one as a gift my next route is going to try and find out if I can get a script for a breast pump and then submit it to the HRA fund.

Good luck! Hope your letter is in. We've been here for 5 years about and it's worth EVERY penny!!! Just a tip...the day you get your keys to your apartment...put a letter in requesting a parking spot/garage!! FM me if you have any questions...

Letter is in! FIL has been local 3 for 38 years so he makes sure we do everything correctly. I love where we live now but Astoria is so expensive. It is time to cut back. Thanks for the offer I am sure I will take you up on it at some point.

Ps. Just moved from Elechester. Lived in the towers for years. My uncle is they bus rep for local 3.

That's GREAT to know that I can hit the HRA for it. Do I need a script for it?
I live in the towers. Tower 2. My dad is a bus rep...ok we prob know each other LOL...I'm about to sing "It's a small world"!

i just moved from tower 2 last year. We lived in Tower 2 14A. I miss it there. I grew up in tower 1 7A. I love having my house but elechester will always have a special place in my heart.
