Weeks vs. Months
Little embarressing but somehow I was off Month-wise. When I was going back to what to expect when expecting I noticed I was surprisingly 4 months 2wks last sat (I was 15wks at that point) I've been reading my week by week book, it doesn't state months. So I suddenly was telling people in months and I was off. LOL so embarressing.
Anyone else get confused with all the different breakdowns out there. Looks like 18 weeks starts Month 5.

Re: Weeks vs. Months
yea I get you I do this too. But lately I have been just going with the day in which my due date will be and say that's how many months I am. For example I am 22 weeks technically that's 5 months but I won't say im 5 months until April 7 because I am due August 7 oy too much lol

Re: Weeks vs. Months
Yeah.... I don't even bother with the month thing because it is too confusing. I just go by weeks!

Re: Weeks vs. Months
I subtract from how many months I have left. So I'm due Oct 18 which means I have about 6.5 months to go. So I'm about 2.5 months, even though I'm close to 12 weeks. But most times I just tell people the weeks and then say when I'm do and let them do the figuring

Weeks vs. Months
When people ask me how many months I usually say "they actually go by weeks...so I'm 28 weeks...so thats like I'm in my 7th month I think".

Re: Weeks vs. Months
I am 16 weeks, so I am 4 full months pregnant. I could also say that I'm IN my fifth month.
This has been the most helpful calendar for me. JustMommies

Re: Weeks vs. Months
When I was pregnant, I always said what month I was in instead of how many months I was.
It's confusing because of the way we usually count time - I'm 38 years old but this is my 39th year of life. Same with pregnancy months.
40 weeks divided by 4 = 10 months, which no one knows until they are pregnant, and most people forget immediately after.
Just tell people the week!

Weeks vs. Months
When I tell people the weeks they usually follow up with "ok, so how many months is that?" LOL

I do that too! I find that people don't really understand # of weeks but have a better idea of how far into it you are when you tell them the # of months.

Re: Weeks vs. Months
I always used weeks because I feel like everyone thinks of months differently and many do so incorrectly, although I never come out and say that. Most people assume 4 weeks = a month but it's really more like 4.5 weeks. That's why a pregnancy is 40 weeks and 9 months, not 10 months.
So, while it doesn't work out perfectly, the months would be appx: 1 month = 4.5 weeks 2 months = 9 weeks 3 months = 13.5 weeks 4 months = 18 weeks 5 months = 22.5 weeks 6 months = 27 weeks 7 months = 31.5 weeks 8 months = 36 weeks 9 months = 40+ weeks
But, if you want to say you're in your X month... your first month would be up to the point where you are one month along, your second month would be up to the point where you are 2 months along...
