My sweet experience with my supervisor today...
I met with my supervisor today to go over her evaluation of me and we bagan talking and I ended up telling her that I am debating whether to take a year off of work (I can take up to 2 years child care leave) but was feeling guilty because this is my first year at this school so I dont feel that I really deserve the time off...anyway my supervisor is very professional but cool, she seems really into her job and has no kids, so I didnt think she could relate to my need to take this year off (going to have 2 under 2) andway so it turns out that she and her husband are having a baby the end of this month via surrogate and she is having the same guilty feelings because its her first year too! I was so happy for her, we bonded at that moment...and now I think i am going to for sure take the year off (and who knows if Ill go back)
Just thought I would share...you really never know what people are going through in their personal lives
