Sorry girls .. more questions... kind of in a bind right now
I EBF and I now have run out of reserves and I have to go out with a client tonight. My husband picked up some Similac Advanced yesterday to give to her. She drank 5 ounces of it then puked, like real puking, 5 times. Now - she refuses to drink any formula and he only has enough breastmilk for 2 more bottles. Not enough to last until I get home.
Any suggestions on what other type of formula I can try. The Similac is disgusting - it looks gray?! Is there anything closer to breastmilk out there?

I used Enfamil in between breast milk and DS didnt have any issues, although I did do this from early on, like when he was around 5 weeks.
I dont think theres any formula thats similar to breastmilk, unfortunately.

i know some babies don't like the powdered formula and will only drink the RTF kind. Maybe you can try that instead?
or try heating up the bottle a little more so it's not as cold?

Can you try mixing bottles so that it's half BM / half formula (or whatever combo you need to make it through the night)?
That's how I transitioned DD over to formula.

Gerber Good Start Gentle does not have the formula smell most have and it is whiter. My first DS had no prob going from breastmilk to this. Good luck!

That's how I transitioned DD over to formula.
what makes me nervous with doing this is we have so little breastmilk and if I mix it and she doesnt want it then thats all wasted. She absolutely would not take the bottle from DH when she tasted what was in there.

We feed DS Similac Advance but he didn't take to it immediately when transitioning from BM...so your DD may still not love another brand. I would try the mixing the PP's suggest. If / when she is hungry enough she will drink it.
We found the powder mix to be less "gray" than the RTF...

I've read that Gerber Good Start is supposed to be the closest to breastmilk. Good luck!

My ped always told me that Good Start is most similar to breast milk.

I also used Gerber Good Start. Try doing the blend. Even if it's just 4oz of bm and 1oz of formula. Bm and formula are different and I can see why she refuses it, but if you need to supp sometimes this is the way.
