How long did you house hunt for your first home?

How long did you house hunt for your first home?
We knew we had to stay in Commack School district even before we started looking, so the area we looked in was already determined. We looked "casually" beginning in about June-July and began seriously looking in September. We found our house in December.
ETA: Our wedding was in October, so for Sept/Oct, even thoughby then we were more serious about looking, we didn't spend a whole lot of time looking until after our wedding.

It's not listed in the poll but we looked less than 3 months, actually about 2 months total. We saw 33 houses before finding the one.

We saw approximately 10 houses in a month and ended up buying the first one we saw. We both loved it but wanted to see more before we put in an offer.

We always wanted to be in the Rocky Point area because it's where DH grew up and a lot of our friends live there. We ended up finding a house in a neighboring town, but it fell through. We found our house in Rocky Point a few weeks after we renewed our search after the holidays and closed on Friday!

There was only 3 condo complexes we looked at... Once we decided on the complex we liked the best, there was only a handful of ones for sale... And we had to rush to get that 8k... So our choice was made rather quickly...
Next time around, I def plan on taking my time and finding a home that has everything on my list... As oppossed to not knowing what to really look for in a home when forst shopping around KWIM?

We weren't looking to buy (in fact we had just discussed that we weren't ready to move in together yet) when I got dragged into looking at this house. One house and 5+years later we're still here!

We started looking in August. I can't even begin to count how many houses we saw. Our offer was accepted in December. We closed 2 1/2 weeks ago.
