What is your fav place to buy...?

What is your fav place/brand to buy...?

- nice fitting t-shirts
- cardigans
- lounge pants
- sweaters
- summer dresses
- outfits for a nice dinner
- work clothes
- accessories

I lost a lot of weight recently and want to replenish and update my wardrobe but I don't know where to begin!

Re: What is your fav place to buy...?

- nice fitting t-shirts - I feel like the t-shirts at GAP, J.Crew, and even Abercrombie are the best fitting and seem to hold up when I wash them.

- cardigans - I saw a bunch of nice cardigans recently at Express. I also have purchased good cardigans before at Ann Taylor Loft

- lounge pants - My favorite sweats are from Abercrombie but I also like Gap and Loft for casual pants as well

- sweaters - Esprit makes my favorite sweaters, they used to have a store in Smith Haven but no more - so I drive to Roosevelt and it's worth it. I love their sweaters because they RARELY use any kind of wool, they are comfortable and feel good - made of quality materials. And, I have to say, they hold up better than anything I own - their clothes last and last. I love ALL of their things. Just FYI - more of a European fit.

- summer dresses - My favorite place on earth for summer dresses is a store called Mint - they have a location in Stony Brook and another out in wine country, I think the town is considered Southold or Mattituck. They have unique, fun, pretty summer dresses. My favorite dress I own is from there. I also love White House/Black Market for dresses of any kind. I also really like a store called WISH which is in Stony Brook Village as well - they have great dresses come Spring and Summer

- outfits for a nice dinner - anything like that and I always seem to default to White House/Black Market or even BCBG-Maxazria which is in Walt Whitman. They have great outfits. FYI: BCBG also has an outlet at Deer Park.

- work clothes - The majority of my work clothes/business attire is from White House/Black Market as well... with some items from Ann Taylor. I also like Michael Kors for work and some Ralph Lauren

- accessories - There's a store called Violet's Blue in Smith Haven that has all sorts of jewelry and costume stuff. I like them a lot. I find that BCBG has a lot of cute jewelry, handbags, and clutches. I always shop DSW for shoes. And cute stores like Wish and Mint (that I mentioned above) have very unique items too.

Re: What is your fav place to buy...?

- nice fitting t-shirts: Still looking for a good place. I have some I like from Espirit.
- cardigans: Gap
- lounge pants: Old Navy, Gap, VS Pink
- sweaters: Express
- summer dresses: Old Navy, Target
- outfits for a nice dinner: Express
- work clothes: NY&Co, Target, Gap, Express
- accessories: pretty much all of the above places

I also find a lot of these things at places like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Beyond the Rack- although they are very hit or miss.

Like, Esprit vs. other stores like Gap, Banana, J.Crew, etc. has more of a form fitting - more narrow fitting style to them. A lot of my friends find they have to go up a size there. The tags on their clothes actually list UK first, then US, etc. and the difference in numbers.

Just figured I would tell you so if you are a small, for example, and the small is too narrow you're not like what the hell happened?! Chat Icon

I get a ton of stuff at banana republic outlet.
The best lounge pants are Lucky Brand. Expensive but so worth it
