torticollis in infants

My DD is 8 weeks today and our ped said she could have torticollis. She didn't seem overly concerned but recommended us to a physical therapist.
Can you share your experiences with this. Should I be very concerned?
I am reading on the boards that a lot of people go through EI. How do I know if I should do that or go to the regular physical therpist. I am not sure where to start,

Ds was a bit older but I went to a PT first because I was able to get an appointment right away and didn't want to wait for EI. Turns out his case was so minor he wouldn't have qualified (there has to be a 33% deficiency in one area to qualify) the PT showed me exercises to do at home and had me bring him back weekly for a month then biweekly for a month then once a month for 2 months and then she discharged him.

I brought him to Kelly Settani at Bellmore Physical Therapy. She was great!

ETA: it was covered through my insurance with my $15 copay per visit. If I waited for EI it could have taken them a few weeks for an evaluation then another few weeks for a determination and since DS wouldn't have qualified that would have been time waisted

I have twins & the both had it. We started therapy at 3 months old. I suggest contacting early intervention tosee if you can get approved therapy. IF you are approved they will come to your home & wont have to pay a dime. When we were going private we had to go 2-3 x's a week which is a copay each time. For us it was X2...so much $$$$

DS has mild torticollis. We had an evaluation done with EI but he didn't qualify. Even so the therapist was great and gave us some exercises to do to help him out.
