Fifths disease
Was at a different school for a meeting this morning and this afternoon I heard that a student was determined to have fifths disease. Now of course I'm freaking out. I was not in the same hallway as the student so I never came in contact with them. Has anyone ever had experience with this?

Fifths disease
I haven't but I know that it's no good for pregnant people. I would probably call your doctor on this and ask them what you can look out for and if there is anything you can do. DO NOT GOOGLE!

I already did
I called my dr and I googled in between the nurse calling me back. The nurse literally just called me back and said that I shouldn't worry about it, if I had no contact with the student its about as likely that I got it as any other day when I'm in the grocery store or at the mall. She said to definitely call if I have any fevers or rash, but google is freaking scary...

Re: Fifths disease
I had it over the summer but thankfully I wasn't pregnant!!! It's no good for pregnant woman at all!!!
I had spots all over my hands and feet. My feet were tingly and numb and it felt like pins and needles when I walked. My hands were very itchy!! They gave me a Z-pack and was told to take Benadryl for the itchness..it took about a week before they disappeared. If you feel like you have been exposed I would contact your doctor!

try not to worry, you may be immune. I have been teaching for quite some time and never got it.

TY! My dr said I'm not immune but she also assured me the chances I got it without even being in the same hallway as the student are slim to none.
