Which Hospital?
My ob/gyn delivers at both Winthrop & North Shore Plainview Hospital. Any reviews or experience with either hospital? Thanks.

Which Hospital?
I just delivered DS at Winthrop in November and had a wonderful experience. The doctors and nurses are great. I can't say enough wonderful things about the NICU staff (DS was there for 2 days). I was there for 5 days and had the room to myself all 5 days!

Re: Which Hospital?
My best friend delivered DD at Plainview. She was very happy with her experience, however God for bid if needed, they do not have a full working NICU. Her daughter had fluid in her lungs and if her condition had not improved they would have had to been transferred. She just delivered #2 at Winthrop and was very happy there. My sister delivered both of her DSs there are well and was very happy with her experience. HTH

Which Hospital?
I don't have experience at either but I would be more comfortable at the hospital with the best nicu because you just never know and I would not want my baby being transferred somewhere else.

Re: Which Hospital?
I just asked my OB about this, he delivers at both. I am having a repeat c-section so it may be a little different, but he told me that Winthrop is a teaching hospital, so if I go there, he will be in the OR, but not doing the actual c-section. I am not sure how it works with a vaginal delivery, but something to maybe ask your OB about.
I had my DD at Plainview 5 years ago, it was okay. I had a private room until the last night, they tend to try to keep everyone alone. Food was okay, my husband was able to come up whenever, I believe they have open visiting hours, meaning someone can come up whenever they want. My husband basically slept by my side. I believe you can have the baby sleep in, but I always sent her back to the nursery at night. It really wasn't bad.

Re: Which Hospital?
My sister delivered her 2 girls and Winthrop and I just delivered my daughter there in Feb. I have nothing but good things to say. Not that my daughetr needed it, but I have heard they have just about the best NICU on LI and that was comforting just in case.
