Baby item research?

Where do you do your research for items to decide what to register for?
I thought Consumer Reports had something but I haven't come across it yet. I have Baby Bargains but wanted to research a few different places... TIA! Chat Icon

Consumer Reports has some items on there. I know they had strollers, monitors and cribs. Honestly, I think LIF, Baby Bargains and friends are much better sources.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about specific items, I have a 2.5 year old DS already and twins on the way.

Re: Baby item research?

I have baby bargains too, there's a lot to read so I just use it as a guideline for each category. I've used Amazon reviews and BRU reviews to help me decide if I'm stuck between 2 things (like the bigger items, car seats, high chair etc).

I used Baby Bargins, Customer Reports, LIF, and then checked the final items I wanted to register for on Amazon and looked at their reviews. I did A LOT of research before choosing our items. Baby Bargins was good too because it made me feel like I didn't register for everything that was out of people's price range.

Re: Baby item research?

I checked Consumer Reports for the car seat because that was a huge safety concern for me- everything else, baby bargains and LIF were great resources

Re: Baby item research?

I used friends, reviews, LIF and the baby bargain books. For the most part things are safe until they aren't. I know thats not the best answer but I didn't have a problem with anything I got for DS doing it this way.
