Newborns + Beach

How old would you take a baby to the beach? DH got the drive on beach pass this year and I am due July 2nd (most likely have a c-section week before). I am not one to take the baby to the beach but just wondering when I could if I chose to. DD was born June 25th and I didn't go to the beach at all that summer.

I may be one of the few but DS starting going to the beach at 3 weeks old. We have and easy up tent not an umbrella which provide great shade. Ds was born 6/12 and we were outside alot. We also went to Florida that summer. I put sunscreen (california baby) on him on several occasions.

I had June and July babies and both were on the beach in July. We just had the umbrella, baby tent and we were set.

DS was a May baby and we were at the beach all the time starting Memorial Day weekend- he was 2 weeks old. We just kept him under the umbrella and in the baby tent.

Thanks! EVERYONE keeps asking me if I will be at the beach this year. I will have to wait and see until the baby is born and how it all goes anyway but at least if I am, I know I won't be alone :)

my DD was a preemie and spent almost a month in the NICU. she was born mid-May and we were def on the beach in late June/early July. she absolutely LOVED it. she slept so amazing with the ocean air. i should add the my IL's had a cabana at a beach club so she primarily was in a PNP on the cabana porch and not down on the sand as much. but i was more worried about the sun and her skin since you cant use sunblock at that age - so she wore a lot of hats and coverups.
