Hair coloring

Is there any way to get hair colored to get the grey out while PG? My friend usually gets hilights as well, but I told her no to the hilights...she's just very worried about covering the grey. Any advice?

I was told highlights, or any hair coloring is perfectly fine, especially after the first trimester if someone is worried.

I dyed my hair the entire time. From about 6 weeks and then every 8 weeks.

Re: Hair coloring

Highlight are fine because the foil keeps the dye from hitting your scalp.... just had them done this week

I would do it. She's not ingesting the dye. I've got my hair colored and/or highlighted for all three pregnancies. Any odors might make her nauseous so be sure she gets fresh air.

Highlights are actually better then full color because it doesn't go straight down to the roots. I was told not to color my hair until after the 1st trimester but if she doesn't think she can wait then I would tell her to either try those root kits in CVS (my mom uses them and they work pretty well) or if she REALLY doesn't want to wait, tell her to make an appt first thing in the morning. My doctor and sister both told me to go early in the morning so that the fumes throughout the day aren't sitting around and being breathed in.
