any GD ladies here on glyburide?
the doctor prescribed me glyberide to help with my fasting numbers but i'm terrified to take it. there are so many awful stories on the web and i made the mistake of reading them :( is anybody here on it? can you share your experience?

Did your ob prescribe it? If so then I guess it would be ok. It says it is a category c drug so maybe ask about that at your next appt? I have gd and was put on insulin 3x a day because I couldn't eat anything and my numbers still sucked. I have to give myself injections but it doesn't hurt at all. Maybe they could switch you to that instead? I'd call your OB if you're worried

thanks....i voiced my concern to the nurse and she said they put people on it all the time....it was my perinatologists office. i trust the doctor completely but the internet stuff is scary. i'm going to take it for the next few days and then ask him about it on monday. if insulin is safer, i'd rather just do that....the injections don't freak me out. thanks for your response!!

I have never taken it, but my BFF has taken it with all 2 of her pregnancies and has two beautiful healthy children. She was on a very high dose for her second. She was worried as well, but her doctor warned her not to google. If you have any questions, I will reach out to her for you. Good Luck!
