Please help - sleeping
I'm in he-l-l. Baby hasn't slept more than a 45 min stretch tonight, its almost 5 am.
She is about 13 weeks old and used to do maybe one 4 hour stretch and at least 2.5 - 3 hour stretches for the rest of the night (about 8 pm - 9 am)
She no longer will really breast feed as of 2.5 weeks ago. Sometimes she would during the night so I have been pumping and giving bottles.
The sleep seems to be deteriorating and now I am at my breaking point.
Here's what I've tried over the past few nights: -unswaddling (she was squirming all over her crib anyway). Right now she is back in her swaddle. -formula (heard it is slower to digest than BM) -increasing oz during the day (no help with sleeping, only increased spit up and I think I over-fed) -white noise -swing -pacifier
She falls asleep pretty well/easily but will be awake in 30-45 mins screaming her head off.
I have been respecting her nap times and we don't do anything pretty much until after her morning nap that ends around 11. Usually we don't even go for a walk or anything until after her next nap that ends around 1.
I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and I can't do this. help.

How long has this been happening? I found DS would do this and it would last a few days and then he'd go back to normal. Do you have a rock n play? On the nights I was desperate I found he slept best in this. I didn't like using it overnight but when you need sleep, you need to do what works. I kept it near my side of the bed and if he woke up I would rock him a little and he'd fall right back asleep. Maybe it's worth a try? GL! I'm sure this is just a short phase and will be over soon!

I really have no advice. My DS was like this for the entire time I was home and probably for the first 6 weeks I went back to work.
He did not start to sleep until he was 4 months and then it wasn't all the time.
You will make it through but you have to make sure DH is putting the time in at night too.
We took shifts. I would come hoem from work, eat dinner and as soon as DS went to bed (he slpet the best from 8pm tp midnight) I would go to bed. I would sleep til about 1ish and then DH would wake me up and it would be my turn to take care of DS. THat way we both got soem sleep. We kept DS downstairs so the crying was further away from our bedroom. IT sucked but we suffered through. And I found I can survive on very little sleep...an lots of coffee.

Re: Please help - sleeping
We've been using the rock n play - she does seem to sleep better in it, but it's really a last resort. I don't want her to become addicted to sleeping on an incline. She typically naps in the rock n play during the day.
This has been happening since she was born but usually one night here, one night there and better nights in between. We've been having a lot more challenges over the last 2 weeks, seems to coincide with her no longer breastfeeding.
I gave her 2 oz of formula and 2 oz of breastmilk at 5 am and she slept until 8:30.
I think I will try 4 oz of forumla for the 1/2 am feeding tonight.
Alli - thanks for your response, that is what I'm afraid of!

DS did this too - what formula are you using? It could be upsetting her belly (that's what happened to him - he should've probably been on Alimentum or Nutramigen but, he refused it so we had him on Sim Sensitive and it made him horribly gassy).
