GHI/Breast pumps-City workers, esp Teachers revisted

Hi,

I thought I understood their policy but am now thoroughly confused. I understand that they consider themselves grandfathered in and feel that they do not have to cover breast pumps. However, a few months back I was told that they would cover them like they always did if there is a medical necessity. A deductble of $100 would be due however. I just got off the phone with a rep that says that as of now, there is no coverage at all, medical necessity or not. Anyone hear of this or is it that this rep is mistaken? Thanks.

After a million calls the final verdict was no it was not covered unless the baby needed it out of medical necessity like in the NICU or had jaundice or something.

I jus called two days ago and this is exactly what the rep said...
we will cover it if there is a medical necessity, such as haing trouble breastfeeding on your own. Get a doctors note, then he gave me a number to call to order once I get the note.

I had a TON of trouble BF with DD#1 so hoping my dr will give me the note!
