Cape May NJ?

Looking to go away for a long weekend with DH & 11 month old DS. Anyone have thoughts about Cape May NJ? It seems like a nice place to visit, are there things to see & do there?
TIA!

Cape May is a very cute town but, IMHO, it is a very long drive and the accommodations are very expensive.

Thanks!
Any other places you've been that you recommend? Just looking for a long weekend trip, within 3/4 hours of LI.

try ocean city nj instead.

it has a boardwalk with rides (dry island, no bars/snooki/jwoww)

it is north of cape may by about 30-45 mins and a great place to go with kids.

Cape May NJ?

Cape May is probably the most unique town in all of the Jersey Shore. I am somewhat of an expert as I have lived on the shore and visited most towns. ;) It has a Victorian feel, very quaint, family-oriented, amazing, world class restaurants. They have a lighthouse to visit, adorable stores, a beach called Sunset Beach with beautiful sunsets, whale/dolphin watching. When are you looking to go? If it is now, The Grand Hotel has amazing deals. ANd if you wanted to go during the week is is something like $79 per night including a drink or 2. They also have an indoor pool in that hotel.
Yes, the drive is the furthest for the shore, but well worth it!
As for boardwalk towns, Ocean City is the nicest. You won't get the "trash" element like Seaside or Wildwood. However, it is a very different atmosphere and feel than Cape May. We go to both every summer. If you have any questions, you can FM me. I have plenty of vacation pictures from both places that I can share with you so you can see the difference.

Thanks so much! It sounds wonderful. We are looking to go in a few weeks (mid April), so hopefully can get some good deals!
