When you leave DC with a caretaker/grandparents at their home...
Do you send them with food? Specifically if you are leaving them for a long period of time or for a trip would you send them with prepared meals for the duration?
Not sure if i should be filling up a cooler with milk, cheese, sandwiches for the weekend (we are leaving DD with Grandma) or asking her to buy and prepare what she would need and reimbursing her....

I usually ask family member if they have certain foods. I know they have milk and cheese but there is something specific that I feed them I will bring it.

Not usually. Unless there is something specific, I come with a few snack items and leave the rest to my parents.

Unless its something specific that I know DS wants that most people don't have like snacks yes, but food like pasta or chicken, no my Mom always has those. DD is 7 months so I do bring her baby food.

My MIL watches DS every fri at her house. I always ask if she needs anything but she buys everything he needs.
MY FIL has watched DS at his house and we usually send stuff since he is not there that often.
Now that DS is on table food though I probably would just say he eats whatever you are having but I can send food if need be.

I always provide my own food. My parents watch DD a lot, but I'm very picky about what she eats (all organic, mostly vegetarian, not processed), so it puts my mind at ease and makes it easier for them (they just have to heat it up, instead of figuring out what to give her).

When DS was on baby food, yes. Now he will eat table food so no. I let him eat pretty much anything when I am not around so I know he won't starve.
He goes to daycare and I still send him with a bottle of milk. They don't really give him table food yet. One day a week my niece watches him and she has kids the 6 months older so they eat together. But I bring her a bottle of juice and snacks each week to offset the expense.

When DD went to daycare I always packed her meals. Now that we have a babysitter at our house I still put out the food for her. I like to know what my dd is eating.

Yes. I pack his bag for him with his meals unless I'm told they have something for him.

When my twins go to my mother's house I'll typically bring SOME food though they have started keeping stuff there that they know they will eat as well. When they were on just baby food my mom would keep baby oatmeal and formula over there so it was one less thing for us to bring. Now she'll keep bananas, avocados, puffs etc on hand and I'll bring other components of the meal.

I do pack some things. My MIL watches DS at her house on Fridays and I usually send him there with yogurt, melon, a banana and a container of applesauce. She'll give him something for breakfast/lunch that she has in the house, but for the in-between snack type stuff I like to pack things so she doesn't feel like we expect her to use all her food!
